CLEAN AND JERK

I saw it on television
It was a man with a vision
He flexed his muscles and set his inner mind.
Sweat poured off his brow
After all, he was gunning for the medal
More than a reputation on the line
He gritted his teeth
The crowd went wild!

Come on and hold your ground
And don't look down
"Baby, you can do it!"
Well, that's what I say
Every morning, every day
"Clean and jerk!"

Come on and hold your ground
And don't look down
"Baby, you'll get through it!"
Until life is over
"Clean and jerk
Ah, ha, ha, clean and jerk!"
And when my life is in shambles
All synapses scrambled
A metaphysical state
My head on a plate
My body auto rewound.
I just think of that guy
Like a mentor, a sage, a spiritual guide.
When all tangled in the ties that bind
I take what he does for my own.

Come on and hold your ground
And don't look down
"Baby, you can do it!"
Well, that's what I say
Every morning, every day
"Clean and jerk!"

I know it must be so -- I saw it on a cable show
My secret defender is an Olympic contender
Oh, clean and jerk
Ah ha ha, clean and jerk.
Clean and jerk...
